Jeans for a Cause ProgramOur Jeans for a Cause program provides our staff members with the opportunity to raise money and awareness for organizations and causes that are important to them. Staff members make a $50 donation if they choose to participate for the year. Organizations and causes are highlighted every Friday, participating staff members wear jeans and buttons to show their support, and a donation is made on behalf of the district. Information about each cause and organization is shared with our school community via email and with our students via the morning announcements creating awareness and teaching about the importance of philanthropy. This year we had over 100 staff members participate and were able to raise approximately $5,600 in support of 32 different organizations. Each organization received an approximate donation of $175 as a result of the generosity and support of our school community.

Pennies From Heaven: Caleb's FoundationPennies from Heaven: Caleb's Foundation was started in memory of Caleb Regenski, who gained his angel wings in 2007, as a result of a malignant brain tumor at the age of just 2-years old.
PENNIES FROM HEAVEN is dedicated to financially assisting families in need so they do not have to leave their sick child’s bedside. The foundation helps parents care for their children by relieving financial burdens at home, especially when other support is unavailable. The organization does whatever they can to help, whether it is covering a rent or mortgage payment, electric or medical bill, or even groceries for the week. The foundation provides extra support that families so desperately need, to help lessen the load and ease the pain. No parent should have to prioritize a payment or job before the care of their sick child. Caleb's Foundation will receive an approximate donation of $175 as a result of the generosity and support of our staff members. To learn more please visit: http://calebspennies.org/ |

To learn more about Nate and his foundation, please visit: www.naterocksheaven.org . Here is a poem featured on the Nate Rocks Heaven website…. Written by Nate on October 16, 2006 "Life in the "after-life", I would look upon my family and friends who are still living and see them going about their lives in a normal manner. They would miss me, I hope, and I would miss them. I would view life in the "after-life" as more free. I am not sure how life is, but would guess there would be less rules. If I were to say something to my friends and family, I would tell them not to worry." |
